On December 11th, 2023, it was confirmed that our facility in Siquirres, Costa Rica, obtained the ICONTEC and IQNet approval for the certificates of Energy Management, under the ISO 50001 standard:2018, which is a reflection of our team’s effort and ratifies our commitment to care for the environment.This certification helps us demonstrate continuous improvement in the rational use of energy, conservation of environmental resources and mitigation of greenhouse gases. It also contributes to improve our processes and the profitability of our products; thanks to the investment and implementation of new energy efficiency technologies and improvements made in the plant.
“This certification process has been a path of much learning, not only at the level of processes, documentation and meetings, but, at the level of organizational culture, since it has involved training with staff and communications by different means to not only provide knowledge, but raise awareness about the rational use of energy, with things that seem simple, but that make the difference; like turning off lights and air conditioners that are not being used, not wasting water and other energy sources for our operation. Our people have welcomed it with great pleasure and commitment, from top management to operational staff. We are very satisfied and aware of the challenge ahead of us to continue improving in favor of our business interests that are oriented towards the social and environmental responsibility we have with our environment”, stated Pedro Quirós, HR manager of plant Siquirres.
